How to visit Hailongtun Site

We have been to Zunyi for a few times already and heard that this site had been made a UNESCO site, so we went to check it out. Getting there from Zunyi was easy as there's a bus every hour from the gas station near Maocaopu bus station. You may have to change buses in Gaoping, but if you keep saying Hailongtun someone will point you in the right direction! Taxis will take you there for around ¥100 as well.

Once you arrive there's a tram that takes you from the visitors centre to the foot of the mountain. Don't try to walk - it's a long way and you have to wall up the mountain at the other end!

Once we got up there it was clear that they are spending money wisely, with information centres that have English and Chinese and don't impinge on the beauty of the site.

The fortress city itself is stunning - the remaining walls and structures give an amazing sense of how difficult it must have been for the invaders. Coupled with the stunning views of Guizhou's unique landscape it makes for a truly memorable experience.

If you're in Zunyi, make sure you won't miss this!
