Walk in the azalea forest park before the day-tour tourists arrive. Enjoy the different colors and different species of azalea. Cross a suspension bridge to reach a pavilion on the top of a hill for an incredible view of this "azalea ocean".
Many different colors and varieties of rhododendron grow at the Hundred Miles of Azaleas Forest, it has another Chinese name called Baili Dujuan Scenic Area, which straddles Qianxi and Dafang counties: brilliant red, pink, purple, and more. Here you can catch the rare sight of different colors of flower growing on the same tree. It is said that during the annual blooming season, female divinities sneak down from the heavens to the mortal realm to enjoy the flowers and sing and dance together with the young women among the flowers.
Visit Huangguoshu Waterfall in the morning. It's the largest waterfall in China. Enjoy the magnificent views created by the tumbling river and karst formations. Walk into the cave behind the waterfall, which was the home of the monkey king in the famous Chinese novel "The Journey to the West", making Huangguoshu the earliest Waterfall in Chinese literature.
We'll drive to Ditang in the afternoon, where you will camp in a limestone cave overnight. The local Buyi people will come to cook for you. Enjoy a special "cave dinner" with a mountain view at nightfall.
Be woken up by the Cocks'singing. Follow a local Buyi villager to explore the nearby peak forest, passing rice paddies and Buyi villages. Let your local villager guide unveil his/her hard but happy life.
Drive to Danzhai in the afternoon. Visit the site of the enormous FAST telescope on the way. Witness the world's largest aperture and understand how it is a world-leader. The 'sky eye' of China is a milestone in Chinese people's quest to plumb the mysteries of the universe.
Stay in a hot spring resort for the night. It is like a Guizhou-ethnic-culture theme park. Some items of intangible cultural heritage are displayed and practiced there. It might be a little bit too commercial, but currently it could be the best way to protect and pass down traditional arts, crafts, and practices.
Have a relaxing walk in the resort to appreciate the buildings and their ethnic minority style. Learn and experience batik making in Danzhai and paper making in Shiqiao Miao village.
You will then go to Shiqiao Village which is famous for the national intangible cultural heritage of traditional paper making with trees' bark by Miao ethnic group. Catch the rare opportunity to see the traditional processes of making papers in the Chuandong, a natural cave where the underground river water flows quietly. Recommended optional activity: learn to make Flower Paper in the craft shop of a local family.

The first destination for the day is Langde Upper Miao Village, renowned as "the Hometown of Chinese Folk Song and Dance Art," located approximately 28 kilometers away from Kaili. This charming village offers a refreshing escape from bustling crowds, embracing a tranquil natural ambiance while welcoming visitors with open arms and showcasing its rich cultural heritage. Upon reaching the village, you will be greeted with genuine warmth through a traditional welcome ceremony with the lovely ladies and girls, elegantly adorned in traditional Miao costumes offering "block-the-way" wine. Following the convivial toasts, immerse yourself further in the vibrant atmosphere as you witness an enthralling singing and dancing performance at the Lusheng Ground. Here, the talented men of the village will skillfully play the Lusheng, a traditional musical instrument, while the graceful ladies showcase their artistry through mesmerizing dances. Should you wish, feel free to join in the dance.
